Lansvale Public School Newsletter Lansvale Public School Chancery Street, Canley Vale NSW 2166 9724 5252 lansvale - p.school@det.nsw.edu.au Website www.lansvale - p.schools.nsw.edu.au 10th March 2021 (Week 7) Term 1, Week 7 - R/Principal Report Thank you I would like to say a HUGE thank you to the Lansvale community for making me feel very welcomed. It has been great to meet some families over the past 2 weeks. I enjoyed meeting families on the Meet the Teacher evening and also at the P&C AGM via Zoom. Please continue to come and introduce yourself and say hello! Quality Texts with Mrs Karam Each fortnight I will be visiting 2 classes to share some of my favourite quality texts. Over the past 2 weeks I have visited class 1Y and 3L. Class 1Y During my visit with class 1Y I read the book ‘ Louis I – King of the Sheep by Olivier Tallec ’. This book tells the story of a humble sheep named Louis who becomes self - appointed King. I enjoyed discussing the importance of being kind to everyone with Class 1Y. Class 3L I read the book ‘ The bear and the piano by David Litchfield ’ with class 3L. It is about a very talented bear who gains celebrity status after discovering his skill of playing the piano. After playing in front of huge audiences the bear soon realises there is no place like home. Class 3L and I had a wonderful chat about borrowing phrases from authors to use in our own writing. Our favourite phrase from this book was ‘ something tugged at the bear ’ s heart ’ and we soon realised the bear was lonely and missing his family. • Thank You • Quality Texts with Mrs Karam • Class 1Y • Class 3L • Meet the Teacher • COVID - 19 Guidelines • Zone Swimmers
